Charetta – 2009 debut EP “Defying The Inevitable”
New York City based band Charetta’s debut album “Defying the Inevitable” has been a staple on our personal playlists. They recorded their debut album with producer Brett Hestla (Creed, A Dark New Day, & Framing Hanley) and not long after released “Defying the Inevitable”.
Charetta’s unique melodic hard rock style is filled with bottom heavy grooves well complimented with Angelina’s powerful yet haunting vocals. The emotional journey Charetta takes their listeners on is powerful. The live performances are just as incredible as the recordings, that is to say the vocals and music are performed with the same quality and passion as the recordings.
The songs which we recommend are:
- The Truth is Out
- On the Line
- Runs in the Blood
- You Prevail
As of December, Charetta has added a 5th member guitarist Chris Fullum and has begun recording their 2nd Album at VuDu Studios with Producer Mike Watts (Saliva, Story of the Year, Theory of a Dead man). The new album seems to be as good if not better then the first, and we are all looking forward to getting our hands on it.
If you would like to check out Charetta for yourselves check out their site and let them know you heard about them through Audiokult Radio. We can not express how this album is a must have in any collection.
